Welcome!
Hey there! For those of you who are new here, my name is Jenoa and my husband is Colin. We are a couple who have both traveled extensively over the past 10 years. More recently, we quit our jobs at the ages of 25 & 28 and sold our belongings to travel the world for an entire year in 2019. Hence, our blog name, One Year Around The World.
During the course of our travels in 2019, we visited 3 new continents and explored 19 different countries – each unique and beautiful in its own way. It was the most incredible year of our lives, and we are already planning to do it again in the future.
Ever since our year-long excursion, we have had a lot of people asking us these few questions:

In response, we made this website with everything you need to know to set your goal, save, and prepare for a trip around the world. We spent years saving and planning for such an extensive trip, and we have learned a lot from our experience. We want this site to not only inspire you to travel the world but to also provide you with all of the resources you need to save and plan for your long-term travels.

If you want to travel the world, you’ll have to start goal setting. We never made any real progress towards being able to travel long-term until we finally set a goal to do it. We set a monetary goal, made a timeline, and even made visuals (a poster in our hallway) with our goals written down, so we could see them every single day. It costs money to travel the world. Luckily, we could talk about saving money all day! We are passionate about living frugally to experience more in life, and we want to help you do the same.
