Venice is filled with wonderful design shops, where local artisans showcase their creativity and skill. These workshops highlight the city’s artistry and craftsmanship, making it a fun destination to explore for design lovers.
From handcrafted eyewear to Murano glass and hand-printed stationary, here is my curated list of the best artisan and design shops in Venice.
Design Shops in Venice
Laguna B – This family-owned glassware shop is a trove of vibrant and eclectic designs. Each vase and cup feels like a work of art, with bold stripes and intricate floral patterns. If you’re on the hunt for unique Venetian glass, this shop is an absolute must-visit.
Giberto Venezia – Idyllically located on the Rialto Bridge, this Murano glass shop is one of my favorite artisan shops in the city. What sets it apart is the personal touch: every design starts as a hand-drawn sketch by Giberto himself before being brought to life by skilled Murano artisans. The clean lines and thoughtfully chosen color combinations make each piece effortlessly elegant. Website
Piedàterre – A shoe store selling the most darling Venetian slippers. They offer an array of styles and colors – the Mary Jane style is a personal favorite. Website
Friulane Dittura – The only shop in Venice selling original, hand-sewn velvet Friulane slippers. Each pair is handmade with care, featuring a beautiful range of colors and patterns.
Alessandra Venezia – A haven for Friulane slippers crafted in stunning patterned velvet and intricate jacquard fabrics.

Papier Machè Venezia – Beautiful Venetian masks handmade by a talented husband and wife duo. Each mask is meticulously made, from shaping the paper forms to painting the intricate details by hand. If you’re searching for original, authentic masks, this shop is a must-visit.
In Barberia – One of the coolest design shops in venice, In Barberia specializes in hand-carved eyewear custom-fitted to your face. Even if you’re not planning to splurge – prices start at €1,200 – it’s worth stopping by to watch the owner at work and admire the craftsmanship. Website
