Milan’s Bergamo airport is the smallest of the three airports in Milan. The airport code for Bergamo is BGY. It is located to the southwest of central Milan, about 55 km, or around 34 miles, away.

The airport has just one terminal which offers flights to destinations around Europe. The majority of flights in and out of Bergamo are with Ryanair.

In this guide, we are sharing the best ways to get from Bergamo airport to Milan by bus, taxi, and private transfer.

Cheapest option: Bus from Bergamo airport to Milan

The cheapest way to get from Bergamo airport into Milan Centrale is on the Terravision bus. The ride takes about 50 minutes one way.

You can catch the bus all day and throughout the night. The bus leaves at 30 minute intervals, at both 10 and 40 minutes past the hour.

Tickets are €10 one way while the round trip costs €18. You can book tickets online or in person. However, advance tickets have priority so if there is a limited amount of seats you may have to wait for the next bus if you didn’t pre-purchase a ticket.

At Bergamo airport, the Terravision bus picks up outside of arrivals at stop number 4. It will then drop you off outside of the Milano Centrale train station along the edge of Piazza Luigi di Savoia.

Other bus companies that make the trip include Flibco and AirportBus — both of these companies offer the same rate as Terravision but leave with less frequency throughout the day.

Convenient option: Taxi from Bergamo airport to Milan

The cost for a taxi from Bergamo airport into Milan starts from around €60 and goes up. You should make sure to always check in with your drive to confirm the approximate price before getting in the taxi.

When they give you a quote, ask if there are any extras on top of that such as tolls or airport surcharges. Of course the driver can’t tell you an exact amount as it will depend on the meter, but they should have an approximate idea of cost.

You can pick up a taxi at the rank outside of arrivals. This taxi rank is controlled by security and you will only find registered taxis there.

While a private taxi is of course a more expensive option than the bus, the perk of choosing this option is that they can drop you off directly at your accommodation. This is a good choice if you have a lot of luggage and don’t want to lug it across the city.

Car distance: The trip in a car from Bergamo airport to Milan city center is just over an hour but can fluctuate depending on traffic and your exact destination.

Private Transfer from Bergamo airport to MIlan

A private transfer for up to three passengers is about the same as a taxi — starting around €100. You can also book transfers for more people, a van for six passengers starts at about €110 and then prices go up from there based on passenger and baggage numbers.

Again this is a more expensive, but a more convenient option, especially for larger groups or if you have a lot of luggage.

The best way to get from Bergamo airport into Milano Centrale train station is by bus or taxi. If your focus is on budgeting, the bus is certainly the better option as it is significantly more affordable.

However, the taxi is definitely more more convenient despite the higher price tag.
